Jack-O'-Lanterns on a Halloween Tablescape
I always try to create a tablescape at least one time during Halloween season that has jack-o’-lanterns on it. I love the color combination during Halloween of the traditional colors of black and orange but I often add white to the mix for some contrast. I found this black and white buffalo check tablecloth on Amazon several years ago. It is heavy cotton and it is really easy to iron with a steam iron. If you read my blog you have seen this tablecloth before on winter and summer tablescapes. I have the same buffalo print in a larger square pattern.
I saw this bufffalo print jack-o’-lantern salad plate on another blog and I knew I had to buy it because I knew that I had all that I needed to create a Halloween tablescape with it. I found the salad plates at Kirkland’s online a few months ago.
I love these bright orange Halloween dinner plates. (The photo doesn’t actually show the true orange color. It is a deeper orange than what is showing.) I can’t remember where I bought these plates but they are labeled Royal Norfolk, Greenbrier International, Inc..
This black glass Starburst charger is called Charge It and was made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes. A black charger with a simple design is a good starter charger plate if you are thinking about starting a tablescaping hobby.
Sometimes when a tablecloth is a busy pattern I use solid color placemats to help break up the busy pattern. These orange place mats probably came from Pier 1 many years ago.
This orange flatware set is labeled Mepra Inox and the pattern is called Fantasia. We bought it on sale at Houzz online earlier this year but several stores sell it. I also have this flatware in blue and yellow. It comes in several other colors also. It is difficult to find flatware sets in different colors so I have my eye on a few other colors as well when it goes on sale again. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.
I think these orange cotton napkins probably came from Pier 1 or HomeGoods several years ago. I love the bright orange color, it’s a perfect color for a Halloween tablescape. These wonderful vintage looking Legigo metal jack-o’-lantern napkin rings came from Amazon two years ago. When I saw them I immediately knew that I would use them often during Halloween season. I found these Department 56 Mercury Glass Jack-o’-lantern place card holders on Ebay a few years ago. I love place card holders, they can add such a fun element to a themed tablescape. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.
I think I bought the orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx. They were some of the first goblets I bought several years ago. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I have, especially this time of year. Just fyi, in the spring and summer Dollar stores often sell plastic goblets like this one in bright colors and when you put them on the table they look just like glass goblets. I have black goblets that are shorter than this black goblet and black goblets that are much taller than this goblet but I wanted goblets this height that were all black. I was delighted to find these black plastic ones on Amazon a few years ago. The advertisement said that they are disposable but I plan to keep them for a while until I can find some black glass goblets that are the same height. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection here (including the colors that I use the most often).
I forgot that I had these Halloween cake stands for a few years because they were stored in the attic space. I bought them in two sizes, this is the smaller one, from Grandin Road online several years ago. I really like the ruffled edge. Steve found the jack-o’-lanterns at HomeGoods for me last week when my original idea for a jack-o’-lantern centerpiece didn’t work out.
I found this salt and pepper set a few years ago at Roger’s Gardens, a nursery and gift shop in the next County. I knew this Johanna Parker design would match the centerpiece on this Halloween tablescape.
I have had this jack-o’-lantern salt and pepper set for a few years and I can’t remember where I found it.
I love creating Halloween tablescapes, they are such fun!
