A Tablescape for the Birds
It’s Springtime and time for a table for the birds. I have had these dishes for a few years and decided to finally use them in a tablescape. I found the inexpensive navy blue tablecloth on Amazon but read the reviews before you buy because sometimes you get what you pay for. This one was a bargain and washes well.
Most of my plates are round but I have a few square ones so I bought a plain white square charger online. It is called Acopa by Core Dinnerware and I bought it online at a restaurant supply store. They often sell plates that are inexpensive when you want to buy a set. The dinner plate and salad plate are called Adelaide and were made by 222 Fifth, PTS International. I found them at HomeGoods but they may still be for sale online somewhere. I love that the design on the salad plate covers the entire plate.
The dinner plate is large, 11” by 11”. The blue gray against the pure white is a great contrast.
This stainless flatware is one of my favorite patterns. It is called Audubon by Ricci Silversmiths. I bought it online at Horchow a few place settings at a time. It is 18/10 and great quality, they still have it for sale. I love the birds and flowers designs in relief. Each piece has a different pattern.
I bought the blue goblets on Ebay, you can still find them for sale there. They were made by Libbey in the 1970’s and the pattern is Tulip in Dusky Blue. They actually are a bit lighter blue gray than this photo shows.
This clear goblet is actually the pattern my mother chose for her wedding crystal in 1938. She couldn’t remember the name of the pattern or who made it and I searched for decades trying to identify it with no luck. Finally one day I was reading through old San Bernardino newspapers online doing some genealogical research looking for information about my grandparents and I stumbled on an article about a wedding shower for my mother that mentioned her gifts and the name of her crystal! This Rock Sharpe crystal goblet was made by Libbey and the pattern was Ridgeway. I was able to complete the set buying them a few at a time on Ebay.
Looked all over for a white bird napkin ring and finally bought these wood ones on Amazon. They were brown but Hubby spray painted them white for me. The napkins came from HomeGoods I think, I have had them for a long time.
I bought these bird place card holders online at Wayfair. I was so happy to find them, one would think white birds would not be that difficult to find but I looked for a long time!
I found this bird and the other smaller birds at HomeGoods. This bird is usually on a red shelf in the family room. I have had it for a couple of years now.
One of my easier tables to create. I had the main elements that I needed already, just a question of putting it all together.
